According to the Daily Record, a Seattle man and three others were injured Sunday night in a two-car collision five miles eat of Cle Elum on State Route 10.
A Thorp couple in their mid-twenties were driving eastbound on State Route 10 Sunday evening when their vehicle crossed the center line into the westbound lane. The couple’s Ford Explorer struck a westbound vehicle in a Subaru Outback.
The driver of the Subaru attempted to avoid the collision by moving to the shoulder, but the Explorer still managed to make contact in the westbound lane.
The Thorp couple inside the Explorer were transported to Harborview Medical in Seattle for their injuries.
However, the driver of the Subaru died at the scene while his passenger was transported to Kittitas Valley Healthcare in Ellensburg.
Both vehicles were totaled and all passengers were wearing seat belts, according to the police report.
Washington State Patrol indicated that the cause of the accident is under investigation. The report states alcohol or drugs were involved in the accident.
