Driver of Senior Center Van Arrested for DUI

According to King 5 News, Washington State Patrol troopers arrested the driver of a senior center van for DUI on April 8th near Lake Stevens.

The troopers said the driver had 11 passengers on board.  They had just finished a stop on westbound US 2 of Interstate 5.

The passengers were yelling at the driver and forced him to stop and pull over, when the driver slammed on the breaks and the passengers got off the bus and approached a trooper who happened to be nearby.

Although frightened and shaken up, no one was injured.

Francis said the driver was arrested for driving under the influence of an intoxicant, but it was not alcohol.

Court documents showed that the driver was in court on Monday on another DUI case and is awaiting trial.
